MON aka Kotaro Ooyama

1979年生、奈良県出身。京都市立芸術大学卒
ライブペイントパフォーマンス、壁画制作を軸に、インスタレーション、キャンバス作品等を発表。 紋様を軸に様々な要素を組み込んだ作風が特徴的。代表作として、一部屋丸ごと描き、古代の寺院から引用した極彩色パ ターンとLEDライトの組み合わせによ り展開する壁画シリーズ「NEXTEFX」が挙げられる。また、2001年に結成したライ ブペイントチーム「DOPPEL」での活動を通して、ライブペイントシーンのパ イオニア的存在として認知されている。
「Yabugarashi」名義での音楽制作、そして、Gallery&Creative Studio「SPES-LaB」を主催(2011-2013)、「TRY&ERROR」をプ ロデュースする等、活動は多岐に渡る。これまでに、愛知万博に出場(2005年)、ISSEY MIYAKE Inc. / ELLTOB TEP @ Osakaとのコラボ(2008年)、DOPPELとしてFacebook Japan オフィスに壁画を提供(2013年)する等、日本各地はもちろん、Portland, L.A. San Francisco, Miami, Bombay, Mongolia等で壁画やパフォーマンスを多数提供している。

Centered on live painting performances, MON has been presenting his works through installation and canvases with his style of blending patterns into his works.And with his live painting team “DOPPEL” which he created in 2001, he is considered as one of the pioneers in the live painting scene here in japan.
Under the name “Yabugarashi” he is known as a music producer, and also MON is known for running his own Gallery/Creative studio “SPES-LaB” in 2011-2013, and his painting event “TRY&ERROR”. In 2005 he participating in the Aichi Expo, and in 2007 DOPPEL was painting a mural at NIKE RESOURCE LIBRARY in Portland,US, and in 2008 he did a collaborative project with ISSEY MIYAKE Inc./ELLTOB in Osaka, and in 2013 DOPPEL was painting a mural at Facebook office in Tokyo, Japan.
MON has been showing his works world wide, to name a few, Portland, Los Angeles, Sanfransisco, Miami, Bombay, Mongolia.
